Birthday card

Love the fluffy fairy from Mo's digitals. I think this might get a smile from my brother! Bringing him good wishes anyways! The inside stamp is from our new local designer, Cheri at It's one of the clear single stamps called "Happiness Fairy" goes perfect with this image! You may have to go and take a look at her site!  Paper is by BoBunny. Image is colored with copics. Holy cow, I even got really wild and did some sanding on the paper!!! I painted some Bligz Pixie Dust on the wings. Like that stuff maybe a little hard to see in the picture though?

Goodmorning my friends!

I hope you all had a wonderful christmas, chanuka or whatever your belief system is! I'd like to take this time to wish you a very Happy New Year that lies ahead of us all!
Something sad about putting away all the card making stamps etc that are specific to this season after having had this most important goal of sending the prettiest cards you can to family and friends. But now on to other wonderful things!
I wish you all abundance of health and happiness in 2012! Now, this is a time limited wish so get busy hey!!! You didn't think I could be totally serious for a whole post did you!!!!
Love to you all!

Birthday card for my m.i.l 90th

A birthday card for my husband's mother who is turning 90 in a couple of days! I have used the Greetings Farm stamp. Wild Orchid flowers. Copic colored and I finally broke down and bought the flourish doohickey die of Magnolias. Those sure aren't cheap! And used other various odds and sods!  Perhaps you saw my get well card to her awhile back when she had fallen and broke 3 ribs. Well she is back living on her own and doing quite well! Wow hey!

The last of my christmas cards

For my son and d.i.l. This is a Sylvia Zet stamp. Isn't she so cute! Copic colored. Snow pen puffy stuff.

For my grandaughter, Journey. This is a Sylvia Zet digital image. Colored with copics. A pretty little image for a pretty little girl!

For my grandson, Meakin. This is a digital image by Delicious Doodles. Colored with copics, Lifestyle dies, stickles, snowflake stickers.

I think this is a pretty cool card. I like the all white card. The embossing is a folder by Tim Holtz. I put Ritz glitter on a couple of the trees. Punched out some snowflakes and glittered them too. Added some silk ribbon and voila!

Birthday card

Art Impressions stamp. Kaisercraft Paper. Colored with copics. Lifestyle crafts dies.

Birthday card

Another Arts Impressions stamp! Birthday card for my friend Bettiann.

Another Christmas card.

I got the inspiration for this card from my friend, Carla. Who has brilliant ideas coming out her ears!!  She is a must check out!!!! So thanks Carla!

Digital images are 2 separate ones by Elizabeth Dulema. She is a kids books illustrator. I colored them with copics of course. Put some glitzy stuff here and there, stickles and Ritz glitter! The Feliz Navidad was printed out on my computer. I got the font (Snowcaps)  as a free download. This card is for my g.f. Ralfie who is a chicken of the winter weather so she and her hubby go to Arizona for a few months in the winter. Hate that she is gone so long but nice for them to be able to do that!

Simone's card. Another Sylvia Zet, this one is a digi image though. Colored with copics. Spellbinder die cutout behind the card. Used flower soft for the snow.  Did the words with a font I downloaded called Snowcaps.

This is a Stampavie stamp. Colored with copics. I did a phony Criss Cross card in that I just did the paper on the front of the card!

Some more Christmas cards

For your viewing pleasure.....or not! Whatever you decide! I'm fairly free wheelin this morning. Just lovin this new sleep pattern I have developed as of late! Can't go to sleep. Can't stay asleep for any great length of time! You could say it sucks to be me right now. Pretty sure I am not alone in this boat of sinking hormones! Whatever~ This to shall pass!

This is a Sylvia Zet digi image.

Rubber Stamp by Funky Kits in Scotland.

My sister in law loves tacky flamingo's. So I thought this little cutie image by Dustin Pike would be just what she needed for Christmas!

Hope you liked them or at least liked looking at them! More to come just can't post them at the moment! I hope you all have a great day!

Birthday card for Jennifer

I can finally post this one! Isn't she so cute! This is a birthday card for my sister in law from a previous life time! The image is from The Greeting Farm her name is IZZY. Colored with copics. The die is a spellbinder die. Across the top is a punch by EK Success. Paper is from my stash so who knows what it is! But she liked it so that's the main thing!!!

It's so funny because so many blogs that I normally follow are very quiet right now. Mine included! Not that we haven't been doing anything. Just can't post it yet!!! Anyhow.......I can post this one.  Hope you like it!

This is done in the Stampscapes style applying the ink with a colorbox foam stylus.

Birthday yipee for my brother!

I love these crazy Art Impression images. The background paper is from the a pad called Moulin Rouge by Prima. I kind of liked the contrast between this young woman doing the can can (?) and the very flashy Millie! Colored with my trusty copics. Think my brother will like it!!!! hahahaha

For taking the time to make a comment. It is really encouraging! Makes me want to make more cards!

Eulanda's birthday card.

Finally have the other card to show you! My busy daughter had a minute to take the picture and send it to me. Gotta try and remember to do that before I send the card! So much easier for everyone! This is a new image by Sylvia Zet. Isn't she just the cutest little girl. I colored her with copics. Cut with a nestability die. The flower is from Wild Orchid. And I believe the paper is Basic Grey. Now back to my christmas card making!

Had to move that translator to the bottom

Seems that googles translator still isn't working. So I kept this one just had to move it to the bottom of the page cause I didn't like that it was so glaringly large at the top of the page. So for anyone that can't speak english, what's the odds that they are reading this post??? Hmmmmm LROL!!!!! Just tryin to be nice ya know!!!!

Has anyone tried.......

to see if my tutorial actually works, yet? Curious to know if I did a decent job or if it just seems easy cause I have already done it????
If you haven't that's ok too. Maybe tomorrow? heehee anyhow no pressure here. But do let me know if you did it ok?

Ciao for now bella's,

Rak for 85th Birthday

Welllll dahlinks!!!! This is from a set of stamps by Pink Cat Studios that my daughter, who is always cleaning out stuff, gave to me!!! Cute isn't it! My glitzy friend gave me the background paper and it is indeed far more jazzy that what it shows in this pic! Colored of course with copics. Feather's provided by somebodies chicken I am sure! And these Lifestyle dies make cutting squares with a cutter a thing of the past! Love it as I am always trimming and trimming to get it just right!!! And the spacing is just perfect! Hope she likes it and hope it makes you all smile too!!!

What? A tutorial! Hopefully yes!

Decide what you want the inside of your card to look like and cut 2 separate pieces of light weight card stock or design paper. I would use the traditional 5 1/2" X 4 1/4". The reason being that your little gift card envelope that is going to fit inside can be smaller and do what it needs to do!!!

So lets start with what the inside is going to look like.

Leave a little space between the pieces of paper. Oh and don't think that you might help yourself by putting just a little bit of something to hold the ribbon in place while you are positioning it. Believe me it just screws it up so it doesn't work!!! lol Just tape the ribbons down on the back side of these pieces.

Ok so now I will show you the back of these same pieces.

Not exactly the straightest on my ribbons am I, ok you don't have to answer that! lol  So can you figure out which ribbon goes where? Oh I am sure you can! I have faith in you!

Next you cut the outside paper cardstock, once again in 2 separate pieces same size as the inside paper. Now glue them to the back sides of the innards in the last picture.

Make your gift envelope. Place your envelope underneath the ribbon X.

Your card is in 2 pieces, joined by the ribbons. I am going to show you what the magic is! First you will open the card from the right side. Now close it. Next open it again from the left side. I do hope you heeded my advice and didn't use any extra sticky stuff anywhere, no need for you to learn it the hard way too!!!!! hahaha

See how the gift envelope moved from one side to the other?
Now is that cool or what!!!!!
If you have any problems let me know!
Have fun!

New translator

Oh my! It seems that the google translator is broken at the moment. So they are offering this one. Sure takes up a lot of space but looks like it should work alright!

A bright spot in my life!

It is one of my beautiful daughters, Simone's, birthday tomorrow. Since they have received their cards already I can now post them. This is a Sugar Nellie digital image. I was in such a hurry to get them sent off that I neglected to take a picture of the cards. Simone was kind enough to take a pic and send it back to me. Still waiting for Eulanda's. When she gets time to take a pic I will upload that one too.

Sympathy card

This card is for my sister in law who just lost a younger sister. How sad for her.
The papers are from Kaiser Craft. The little girl stamp is from Crafter's Companion. And the words on the front are from a sympathy set by Stampendous. The flowers above are from Wild Orchid. The oval is Lifestyles Crafts.

M.I.L. get well.

My m.i.l. had a dizzy spell a week ago this past saturday and she fell. On her way down she hit her ribs on a wooden chair and broke 3 of them. She is still in the hospital. Poor little lady she is so tiny and fragile. Still in a lot of pain. Hopefully she will mend and get back to feeling well again.
This is a wonderful stamp set from Art Impressions! And anyone that has ever been in the hospital knows a nurse ratchet I am sure!!! Really, they do come back and make sure you are sleeping. Once by shining a flashlight in my face. Or maybe that was way back when the nurses really did check on you! Anyways.....I thought this card might cheer her up.

Grandson's birthday

Not the best work I have ever done by far! But probably one of the quickest!!! Oh maybe not! I am thinking the words could have been a whole lot smaller. So not impressed with that. But my little grandson really liked it. He thought the cupcake looked good enough to eat!!! LOL He is just such a sweet little boy. I must tell you what he did. At the end of the party I asked him if I could have his goodie bag. And in a very quiet voice he says.....nooooooo. A couple of minutes later I was surrounded by a boquet of balloons. He had gone and got them off the table and brought them to me and said "Here grammie". I can't believe that he had reasoned that out with such thoughtfulness! Mind you I didn't take his balloons either!!!

Sympathy card

For my friend Norma, who lost her daughter recently. Cuttlebug folder for the background. Sticker which I colored with copics.

Wedding card

For my nephew and his wife. I used the glimmery paper, cuttlebug folder for the hearts, a sticker kind of thing for the bride and groom. The flowers and leaves I got from Michael's.

Feel Better Cheerleaders

A couple of get well cards for some ladies on the CST group. I used "Fabby" from Stamping Bella. Colored with copics.

Birthday card for Norma N

This is part of a larger image of crazy old women sitting on a couch. The stamp is our STOM from our local stamp and scrap store Creative Accents. The stamp is made by Art Impressions.  I think I got a little wild with the color comination but thought I'd do something different and well it looks like I accomplished that!

Sympathy card

A sympathy card for my bf who just recently lost her father. Always such a sad occasion. It doesn't seem to matter how old a person is, it is the void that is left that is so hard to deal with, isn't it. You will be so missed by so many, Ed B 63!

Wedding card

Had to make a quick wedding card, no not a shotgun wedding just me procrastinating!!! Thanks for the great idea, Tanya. A total case job! And thanks to Julie for picking out the paper for me! She is so good at it matching up papers!

Birthday card for Nancy

I love this image from Belle's and Whistles designs. I colored with copics. The flourish is a Boss Kutz.  The butterflies are a punch that I found at a dollar store some time ago.

Graduation card for my great niece!

This card is for my brilliant niece, Erin. Who thanks to our postal strike may or may be still lingering in the system somewhere between here and Vancouver Island, the card not Erin!!!! This center step card was fun to make. I stamped one of my Penny Black hedgies cropped the stuff that was originally around it. Scanned the image and made it larger and added a grad cap and some happy swirlies and stars, colored with copics.  And rolled up a little piece of paper for her diploma tied with a little piece of ribbon topped with a gold star! This kid has never had anything below a B+ and very few of those!!!! She is off to U.B.C. in the fall.

Birthday card for my nephew, Peter

This was one of those difficult to think of what to do for a man cards!!!! I really like the verse and that scroll stamp I used down the side.

Birthday Card for my niece

A couple of slightly different shots of this side step card for my niece Cheryl's birthday. The image is a Mo's Digital design. Such a cute little girl! Colored with copics. Wild Orchid flowers. Nestabilities for the strawberry girls frame and the heart.

Long overdue post!

A birthday card for my friend Janet G.

Tuesday, March 15, 2011

I made this card for a friend who had fallen down and got somewhat hurt! Hopefully will bring a smile to her face! This is a High Hopes Stamps drawn by Dustin Pike.

Happy Birthday Arlene

This was a fun card to make. I haven't used this card layout for awhile. The stamp is one from a set of CTMH stamps colored with Copics. Cut out with a Nestability die.  The flowers on the steps are from Wild Orchid. I added some glitter to the flowers and stuck some pearls and leaves in here and there.

What the heck? I was just looking down the page and it appears that I posted the same birthday card, for Mike, twice. And made different comments but it appears that the comments both apply to that card. I wonder what that was all about. I am thinking that maybe it was some gremlins that were busy in my computer when I was sleeping? You know after they were done in my closet shrinking all my clothes! OR. Perhaps no excuse is better than that one!!!! Oh well, sorry about that!

A Birthday Card

This is a Birthday Card for my sister in law, Sharon. She is an avid quilt maker. So I thought this might be fun. When I got it all done I thought that it almost looked like it should be 2 different cards. My goal was to put nice and fun together on the same paper but I am not all that happy with the idea in retrospect! Hmmmm, it's in the mail now. Hope she likes it! This is a Bugaboo image. Colored with copics. Flowers are from Wild Orchid. And I used a dollar store punch for the gold butterflies resting amongst the flowers. The paper I have had for eons!

A feel better card

My sister in law's father had a stroke so this is a card I made to send to him. I did the crackle thing over the flowers. Which were a lot more to the yellow tones before I started mucking around with the versamark pad and the crystal crackle stuff. Anyways.....I had fun making the card. I have heard that he is already doing very well and getting back to normal! So that is great news!
