Happy Birthday to Mikey!

I am back with a Stampscapes card. It has been awhile and this is a technique that definitely needs practice. However, not to bad. Can you believe that there is 7 different stamps used in the making of this scene? I don't know why it looks like there is a blank area on the right, maybe because of the silver paper right next to it? I am pretty sure it is colored right up to the edge! Yep it is. I had to go and check this on a bigger picture! This card is for my daughter Simone's fiance. He is a real great guy!!!

Happy Birthday

This card is for my cousin Cyndi in Ontario! I just love these Sylvia Zet images. The wide eyed wonder she gets in their eyes never ceases to amaze me! I colored her skin with the Spectrum Noir pens, the rest of the coloring is done with Copic pens. The paper is Basic Grey, can you believe I remember what it is!!! The word and peace sign are cut out on the silhouette. I added some of the Spica Pens on the flower and leaves at the left side. Hope she likes it!

Feel better

Our list mom on C.S.T. asked whoever was able, to send a card to a lady that had been in a motorcycle accident over a month ago, in Saskatchewan. She has just been moved to a rehabilitation place. I am hoping that this will be ok and will give her a smile. The stamp is one from Kraftin' Kimmee, always thought it was kind of cute. Colored this one with a combination of Copics and Spectrum Noirs. Used a Martha Stewart Punch for the border on the mustard color paper. Hopefully she will be restored to normal.

Finally, the baby card!

And it's ready to send! My goodness why it took me so long is anyone's guess. Oh well better late than never I hope! The image is a stamp from Belle's and Whistle's. The wings and all other things were cut out with my silhouette. Colored this one with Spectrum Noirs. I really prefer their skin tones over copics. Oh ya, wash my mouth out with soap! This new little baby's name is Vencia Carolene. And  is in her grandmother's words is the most beautiful baby ever born! LOL And I assured her that my grandaughter had that spot taken!!! Grammies are so funny! Incidentally this is the only person I know that has the same birthday as me! Anyhow.....hope you like it! The card I mean really why would you care that she was born on my birthday!!!

And that is all I have done in this dept since June.

Oh my! I have had a baby congrat's card on the go for about 3 weeks now. By the time I get it sent the kid will be a year old.
On the busy side we have been trying to organize a move....which is not going very well. Seems there are problems at every turn. Somebody trying to tell us something? Wish we would have know before we bought the lot!!! Anyhow....I am sure things will work out for the best in the end. Who am I kidding....no I am not sure of that!!!
I have also been busy with canning, pickling and freezing stuff from the garden. Hopefully I will get back in the swing of things in Sept.
Anyhow here ya go Janet! Tis all I have done for awhile.
Hope everyone else out there is doing well!

Tom and Charlotte 50th

This card was almost entirely done with cut outs from my silhouette. I put the 2nd one in to show you the way the wings are put on. "She" has a little rhinestone necklace on.  I had to fashion the black beak head part myself. The background sky is from a piece of paper that I had and copied it so I can change the color of the sky as suited to the other colors I am using. You can't really tell from the picture that the entire dark blue flourish is covered with sparklies. Yup! That was a create more work for yourself opportunity! On one side of the cut out there was a little bit from the back of the paper that was not at all like the front. And wouldn't you know it that is the side I started to glue face up!!! So now I can't turn it over because it has glue on it right? So had to carry on with the glue and put loose glitter on it. Some sticks some gets all over the inside of the envelope and is generally here there and wherever on the card itself.

And off to the great white north, ok so it was July and it wasn't that white!!! To Lance's sister and her husbands 50th Wedding Anniversary celebration. The weather was great, aside from the mosquito's being a tad on the nasty side. And the company was wonderful!!! We were really happy to be able to be there with them.

Uncle Rod Birthday

This card was for Lance's Uncle Rod. Who as you can see turned 85 in July! I used a Bugaboo digi image by Jodee. Just love that "Gus" Made him into a bit of an old farmer. The Die cut is one of spellbinders. The wheat and the rake are cut out on my Silhouette also the Happy 85th. Colored with copics.

For friends 50th Anniversary

It was our friends big anniversary party June 16th. This is a Mo's Digital Image. Flowers are from Wild Orchid. I have used a Martha Stewart punch for the loopy things in the back ground. The flourish is one from Cheery Lynn Designs. The Happy 50th was cut out with my silhouette. Colored with copics.  Mind you it may have been their 50th anniversary but you won't catch these 2 sitting on a park bench!

June STOM for Creative Accents

My friends Tara and Julie from Creative Accents asked if I would do a couple of card samples for the stamp of the month for June. And here they are!

A little tutorial for you!

I got this from watching a you tube video, from Cheery Lyn Designs, that was possibly a little longer than you might want to watch so just summing it up quickly here for you. How to make a real easy rose. And if you happen to have several different sizes of the EK Success, Retro flower punch you can make these in short order! The trick is getting your hands on some heavier mulberry paper.

This is the punch I used for this one. This is a very small punch! But the flower is so cute!

Punch out 6 flowers, then punch a hole in the center of each piece to allow you to put a brad inside.  Shape them by using your petal roller or the end of a large brush! Most of you already know how to do this I am sure. Take the first flower and put the brad down through the top of the flower. Pull the first petal towards the brad then glue the second petal to the first one,  continue doing that with the remaining petals, turning it as you go but also keeping it nice and tight as this will be the center of your flower and you won't see the brad. Put on the next flower and place the petals off set from the first one above it put a little dab of your favorite glue to hold it in place and keep doing this until you have used all your punched out flower's. Let the glue dry and it is ready to be used. This is how the finished flower looks......

There you go! Have fun and if you have any other sizes of this punch try that one too! Keep in mind that it works the best with a 5 petal punch. How do I know that? Cause I tried a 6 petalled one. That just ended up being an exercise in frustration!!!! Maybe it was the shape of the petals but it didn't work as nicely as this one did.
Have a great day y'all!!!

Ummm a little x-rated maybe?

This card is made from a previous STOM from our local Creative Accents. It is called Desert Critter's Gang from www.lindsystampgang.com. And I made this card for my very sick brother in law. One of his ways of referring to someone is "buddie" hence the sentiment from the little gecko hanging on the screen door! The flourish is one from Cheery Lynn Designs. Colored with copics. Need I keep saying that I wonder! lol The paper is Basic Grey.

The Baby Shower!

Isn't this some cute! A friend of mine became a great gramma not to long ago and this is the card I made for the occasion. The heart shaped card comes with the flourish and is from Sihouette as are all the little bits and pieces on the inside of the card. The image is one from Belle's and Whistles, colored with copics and cut out. Then put her on a little pillow. The sentiment and verse I did on the computer.

But. Is this not just one spectacular cake? Baby Sophia's Auntie Kathie made this. Everything that you see on this cake, right down to the little babies blanket on the very top of the cake. I think it must have taken her months to do this! Beautiful job, Kath!

And this is Great Gramma and baby Sophia!

Fiesta Days

We had our annual Fiesta, put on by our local stamp and scrapbooking store, Creative Accents!!! Yay girls! And what a job they did! We even had a chef, that is usually hard at work in the Sun Peaks ski resort, out of Kamloops. Thank You for gracing us with cooking up a mexican food extravaganza, Dennis! The company was wonderful. I even had to change some travel plans to work around being able to be here for this weekend! Obviously, I love the Fiesta weekend. Although, I never do get much done other than visiting! lol Somehow the other girls manage to put out some real nice stuff though!

I did not make these cards at the fiesta. The Creative Accents ladies had spoken to Hospice and asked if they had a need for cards to have on hand. They did.  Who ever wanted to and had cards on hand could bring and donate them to a very good cause. That is what these cards are for.

And once again Thank You to Julie and her everloving supportive wonderful hubby, Greg. Also to Tara, daughter and co-owner of Creative Accents. And whoever else had a hand in creating such a  fun weekend! I strongly suggest to anyone. Think about attending this event sometime!

Thank You Card

I made this card for Lance's Auntie Opal and Uncle Rod who were so kind to have us stay with them during the time that Lance's mom was going through her illness etc....We had a wonderful time with them and all of their family that came from all over Alberta, one son even came up from Boston where he resides. They came to make sure their mom was ok, she was Lance's mom's sister. Such a close knit family. Wonderful to see and be a part of.
This is a Sugar Nellie stamp. Colored with copics. The flourish is one of Magnolia's. The Thank You sentiment (Hero Arts) is from a STOM set from our local Creative Accents store. The butterly and various little angels are punches by whom you ask? I have no idea! Mostly just from the dollar store.

Ralfie's Birthday Card

Oh my am I ever behind! This is a card I made for my friend, whose birthday was in April! I used a Sylvia Zet digital image. Did I mention I love her drawings, the expression on the faces is just priceless! I used some Wild Orchid flowers Martha Stewart leaf punch, Spellbinder die, various papers and the sentiment I did on the computer. Of course colored with copics!

Creative Accents Sprays and Stains Challenge

The stamp for this card is a Magenta stamp, which I colored with copics. I used the Tattered Angels glimmer mists on the flower that was originally a bright yellow sunflower. And I have some walnut crystals that you add water to. So I saturated and scrunched the piece of paper behind the image with that stuff. It was kind of fun to make and fairly quick even!
If this looks strange when it gets posted. I have been having trouble with blogger tonight.Hmmm never had these problems before. Anyhow..........here's my card!

Birthday Cards

For a few years I have been sending cards that I have made to my cousin in Toronto. And this year her daughter wondered why I never send her any cards! awwww sweet! So Cyndi asked if I would send the kids, who are going to be 11 in a few days, birthday cards. So happy to oblige these are what I made for them.
On Kaitlyns card. I used a Sylvia Zet digi image. My cameo silhouette was used for all the stuff you see that is cut out.
On James card. I used a Kenny K digi image. Although it is hard to see the raised images. I cut out the hockey player. And the other images that I found around the web.
Coloring was done with, what other than Copics, right?
Hope they like them! Lucky little ducks are going to Disney World in Florida for their birthdays! They are going to have a blast!!!

Sharon's Birthday Card.

This is the birthday card that I made for my sister in law. The ones that we went to Hawaii with last year. We would have liked to go again this year but it didn't happen! I am afraid one more time over there and I wouldn't want to come back here! lol The words on the front, in case you didn't know, are Happy Birthday! Well that is according to the internet anyways!!! hahahaha and you thought I had learned something! Nope!
The words and tree are cut out with my silhouette cameo.
The images, the waterfall etc and the hula girl are 2 separate png digi images. Being as the png format has no background it allows you to do a really nice over lay and know exactly where the top image is going to sit. These images are from a site called "Make it crafty"
As usual my coloring is all done with copics. So not much more to tell you on this one! Think that about covers it!

A card for a special guy!

I made this card for someone very special to me, celebrating a milestone event in his life! Hope you like it!

Guest Designer for Creative Accents

This was fun to make! I used one of our previous STOM stamps for the central image. Then make it a St Patricks day theme! Colored with copics. The flourish, shamrocks, shoes, hat and beer mug are all cut with my fancy schmancy Sihouette Cameo, which is available at our local store. Creative Accents. Both Tara and her mom Julie are very helpful and nice to be with!

My Grandaughter's Birthday Card

Hard to believe she is going to be 5 years old in a couple of days! Journey just loves to play dress up. She has a pretty wild imagination! So I thought that she would probably like this card! The image is a digi by Mo Manning. As usual colored with copics. The paper is Bo Bunny. Leaves are Martha Stewart punch. The flourish is a doohickey from Magnolia. So I am off to the birthday party with a bunch of 5 year olds this afternoon! Yay Grammie!!!

Such a beautiful little grandaughter I have!!!

D.I.L. birthday card

This is a Sylvia Zet image. Just love her work. I finally broke down and purchased the magnolia dookicky flourish that you see on this card. She is colored with copics. I painted some Pixie Dust Blingz on her wings, not that you can see it!!! The lace is from Wild Orchid. The flower is Prima with some added stickles for sparklies on that. The butterflies are cut with my silhouette.

Feel Better

For my friend, Bettiann. Who fell and hurt her arm. Hope things are back on the mend now. This is a stamp from High Hopes (I think) anyhow it is a Dustin Pike image. Isn't she just the cutest!

Birthday card

I made this for my friend, Dianne K, who lives in Montreal. And she just got it today so now I can post it!!! This is a from a red rubber stamp set by our local girl,Cheri, at http://www.graphicatstamps.com/products/rubber_stamps/graphicat-stamps/graphicat-red-rubber
She also has it as a digi image but it doesn't come with the sayings. Colored with copics. Various papers and a BossKuts die that I further cut in half. Pretty stamp huh!
